I am from San Juan, Puerto Rico
What are your academic and/or technical interests?
My academic and technical interests are focused on chemical engineering, especially in areas related to process design, manufacturing, and improving industrial efficiency. I am interested in how chemistry, physics, and mathematics are applied to solve real-world engineering problems and optimize industrial systems. I also have an interest in sustainability and environmental protection within chemical processes, particularly in developing safer and more efficient ways to use resources. Through my studies, I aim to strengthen my problem-solving and analytical skills so I can contribute to improvements in industry and support sustainable development in Puerto Rico.
Do you have any hobbies?
I enjoy several hobbies that help me stay active and balanced outside of my studies. I like playing volleyball, which allows me to stay active and work as part of a team. I also go to the gym regularly because I enjoy exercising and improving my physical health. In my free time, I like going to the beach, which is one of my favorite ways to relax and spend time with friends. I also enjoy eating and trying different types of food, especially when sharing meals with family or friends. These hobbies help me manage stress and maintain a healthy balance between school and personal life.
What are you most excited about for this program?
I am most excited about the opportunity to learn and gain hands-on experience in a professional and academic environment related to engineering. As a chemical engineering student, I am eager to deepen my understanding of how real-world problems are approached and solved in industry, especially in areas related to process design, efficiency, and sustainability. I am also excited to develop new technical and problem-solving skills, while working alongside other motivated students and professionals. I look forward to challenging myself, expanding my knowledge, and gaining experience that will help me grow both academically and professionally. Most importantly, I am excited about the possibility of applying what I learn to future work that can contribute to improving industries and supporting the development of Puerto Rico.
