2023 Program Archive

The Intro to HPC Bootcamp began in 2023 as a multi-laboratory collaboration to introduce HPC concepts to undergraduate and graduate STEM students. The inaugural bootcamp was held in Berkeley, California, at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory from August 7th to 11th, 2023.

2023 Program Materials

Bringing together the first ever cohort of 60 participants from all over the US, this bootcamp was the first of its kind, powered by the Department of Energy's Exascale Computing Project (ECP) and hosted by Lawrence Berkeley National Lab. Argonne, Oak Ridge, and Berkeley Labs, in collaboration with Sustainable Horizons Institute, collaborated to bring these students together and lead project-based work under the umbrella of sustainable energy. Through this bootcamp, students examined and explored issues related to the social impacts of topics such as climate risk and resilience, solar power, sustainable cities, and energy usage.
