Where are you from?

I am from Chicago, Illinois.

What are your academic and/or technical interests?

I am currently an Associate in Engineering Science student planning to transfer into Industrial Engineering, with a focus on operations research, systems optimization, and data analytics. Lately I have been drawn to how high-performance computing connects to those areas, particularly when it comes to solving large-scale resource allocation problems or modeling how infrastructure systems hold up under stress. I find the combination of mathematical modeling and computational power genuinely interesting, and I am looking for more opportunities to work at that intersection as I move into upper-level coursework and research.

Do you have any hobbies?

Outside of school I stay pretty busy with a mix of things. I do a lot with 3D printing, mostly designing functional parts and occasionally running small workshops for others who want to learn. I also enjoy working on cars, both maintenance and performance modifications. Beyond that I am big into specialty coffee and love finding good local spots. I also genuinely love the performing arts, plays and musicals especially, and I recently got into pickleball which has been a lot of fun.

What are you most excited about for this program?

I'm most excited about plugging into the community and collaborating with a driven, like-minded group of peers who are as passionate about technology and engineering as I am. Working alongside people who push each other to solve complex problems is exactly the environment I thrive in. Beyond the networking, I'm ready to move past standard classroom coding and see what it's actually like to scale models and analyze massive, real-world datasets on a world-class supercomputing infrastructure.
