Where are you from?

Chicago, IL

What are your academic and/or technical interests?

I’m really into mechanical systems and building things that actually move or serve a purpose. I’ve been learning how to program microcontrollers and I enjoy making small projects come to life with code. As an Excel Student Ambassador, I picked up a lot of cool tricks in Excel and Power BI, like making dashboards and using formulas I didn’t even know existed before. I also got hands-on experience with CAD through my internships, and I ended up really liking SolidWorks. It’s kind of fun being able to design something from scratch and see it come together. My favorite technical tool overall is MATLAB because you can pretty much use it for anything like data, simulations, math or engineering problems; you name it.

Do you have any hobbies?

Playing basketball, working out at the gym, watching NBA games, and modifying cars. I'm passionate about performance upgrades and design customizations. I also enjoy competitive strategy games and staying updated on sports news. I love to bowling as well. I am a sneaker head additionally, and like to stay up to date with the latest fashion.

What are you most excited about for this program?

I’m excited to see how high-performance computing can actually be used in engineering, especially with things like simulations and design. I think it'll help me understand how some of the tools we use in mechanical work can be taken to the next level. I'm also really looking forward to meeting other students and professionals so I can grow my network and learn from people who are already doing  impactful things in the field. This feels like a great opportunity to build connections and gain experience outside of the classroom.
