Where are you from?
I’m from Orland Park, a community in the southwest of Chicago, and I’m currently studying at Governors State University. With roots from Jordan and a strong connection to my local academic community, I bring a unique blend of perspectives that makes up my passion for learning and innovation. What truly drives me is the potential of Artificial Intelligence to solve real world problems and reshape the future. I’m planning to pursue my master’s in AI at the Illinois Institute of Technology, and I see this bootcamp as the perfect opportunity to take the next step. I’m excited to get hands on with powerful computational tools, dive into more challenging things that will help me achieve my goals and help others achieve theirs, and learn alongside people who are just as passionate about HPC and energy science as I am. I want to be part of changing the future that pushes boundaries, and this program feels like a step right in that direction.
What are your academic and/or technical interests?
My academic and technical interests center around Artificial Intelligence, machine learning, and high-performance computing (HPC). I’m particularly fascinated by how intelligent systems can be trained to process and analyze large-scale data efficiently, and how HPC enables breakthroughs in fields like scientific research, automation, and education. I’m also interested in the educational potential of AI specifically; how large language models can be used to generate and evaluate instructional content for complex technical topics.
Do you have any hobbies?
Yes, outside of academics, I enjoy photography, it allows me to observe details, and express creativity through visual storytelling. It’s a hobby that has taught me patience, perspective, and attention to detail, which I find valuable in both technical and academic work. I’m also passionate about staying up to date with developments in the rapidly evolving tech world. Whether it’s reading about breakthroughs in artificial intelligence or experimenting with new tools, I’m constantly eager to learn more about how technology is shaping the future and how I can be a part of that transformation.
What are you most excited about for this program?
I am most excited about gaining hands-on experience applying computational and data science tools to solve complex scientific problems. I’m also eager to collaborate with like-minded peers and learn from leading experts in HPC and energy science. I believe this program will be an invaluable step in developing both my technical skills and my ability to contribute meaningfully to the field.
