Jean Luca is a career-track Data Management Research Scientist at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBNL). He is passionate about High-Performance I/O, Parallel I/O, Education, and Competitive Programming. He received a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the Universidade Regional do Alto Uruguai e das Missões (URI) Erechim, a Masters in Computing (2017) form the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS) and his Doctorate a from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul in 2021. His research focuses on optimizing the I/O performance of scientific applications by exploring access patterns, automatic tuning, and reconfiguration using machine learning techniques, I/O forwarding, I/O scheduling, and novel storage solutions.
