Institution: University of Guam
Where are you from?
Hafa Adai (Hello)! I am from Guam and currently a graduate student at the University of Guam in the Master of Science in Environmental Science program.
What are your academic/technical/or energy justice interests?
Growing up on an island, the impact of climate change/ increasing strength of typhoons in the region disrupts our island’s power supply. Through my experiences in data science, I hope to provide support with data analysis techniques to determine the impacts climate change has on socioeconomic populations and daily life.
Do you have any hobbies?
Traveling, getting iced coffee, meeting new people, and swimming are a couple of my hobbies.
What are you most excited about for this program?
I am most excited to meet and network with fellow mentors, participants, and staff members. I am interested in learning new topics such as solar power and green energy and how it can be used in HPC.
