Where did you grow up?
I grew up in Bangalore, India (aka Bengaluru)
What’s your field of study and how did you get into that field?
I have a bachelors and masters in computer science and engineering and an MBA. My first introduction to computers was around the age of 10, when my dad brought home an IBM PC and he wouldn’t let me play with it unless I took classes in school. Once I started those classes, I was hooked!
What fascinates you about HPC?
The myriad ways in which people use it to solve so many types of problems. I always knew that computers were a very valuable tool to solve all kinds of problems but when the problem sizes grow to the point where you are no longer able to solve it on a single computer … things get very interesting!
What’s your current title and what do you do?
I’m the Deputy Division Director at the Argonne Leadership Computing Facility.
