Hi there! My name is Nicky Ishaak and I earned my B.A. in physics from The University of Texas at Dallas (UTD) in 2024. I have held internships at national laboratories including Brookhaven, Pacific Northwest, NREL, where I conducted research in areas such as particle accelerator control, wind farm layout optimization, and materials science. In 2023, I was a participant in the High Performance Computing (HPC) Bootcamp at Berkeley Lab. Along with science, I find fulfillment in being socially engaged and politically active. Currently, I serve as a Youth Justice Advocate for the National Youth Justice Network (NYJN) and a Co-Trainer for the Michigan Indigent Defense Commission (MIDC). Lastly, in my free time I love to read, hike and rock climb with friends, and travel!
