Where are you from?
Hello! I was born and raised in the lovely and expensive Bay Area. However, I am currently living in Colorado, where I am opening myself up to new experiences and opportunities. My family is from Guanajuato, Mexico, and I am proud to carry that cultura with me.
What are your academic/technical/or energy justice interests?
My academic journey has been considerably driven by my interest in utilizing python in a range of different data science applications. I learned how to apply machine learning that effectively allowed me to address real-world problems related to life sciences, by generating predictions using both linear models and deep neural networks. I am very enthusiastic about finding solutions for future generations in which we can make sustainable energy accessible to everyone and change the way it is used.
Do you have any hobbies?
I absolutely love watching scary movies and anime. I have good recommendations too! I have fun baking lots of desserts, so I have some good recipes as well. I am very passionate about sports, watching and playing soccer really keeps my heart pumping. I am also the best foosball player out there! In addition to all of that, I also enjoy traveling to new places with friends and playing PC games with online friends.
What are you most excited about for this program?
What I am most excited about for this program is to learn and adapt new techniques. As well as gain insights into the professional data scientist role and develop my skills under the guidance of a mentor. I am thrilled about the opportunity to network with individuals who share similar interests and hopefully build a strong support network.
