Where did you grow up?
I grew up in Hoboken, N.J.
What’s your field of study and how did you get into that field?
My PhD is in Organic Chemistry, I studied at the University of New Hampshire. I was always interested in Chemistry in school, partly because I loved the show “MacGyver” when I was a kid.
What fascinates you about HPC?
I find the scientific studies done on HPC systems so amazing for their scale and detail. It is a great tool to answer so many questions in many fields of science.
What’s your current title and what do you do?
I work at the Ohio Supercomputer Center as the Education & Training Specialist so I am constantly trying to find new ways to get new users onto HPC systems and make them easier to learn about.
What energy justice topic is most important to you and why?
Designing new energy systems that benefit disadvantaged groups more is important to me. Taking this opportunity to remake our energy infrastructure with groups that have been historically overlooked in mind will help to correct historic inequalities.
