Daniyal Khokhar

University of Illinois Chicago

Where are you from?

Chicago, Illinois

What are your academic and/or technical interests?

I’m currently studying Computer Science, with a strong interest in the intersection of hardware and software—particularly in robotics, microcontrollers, and software development. I’ve always been passionate about inventing, and I love diving into new research—both through university projects and on my own—while building hands-on projects in my spare time. Recently, I designed a concept for a debris-cleaning space robot using CAD, and I’m excited to take it further as I gain new skills and insights through this program!

Do you have any hobbies?

I really enjoy teaching and have been leading coding sessions in youth programs over the past year. I also enjoy playing video games with friends and learning new languages in my free time.

What are you most excited about for this program?

I am most excited to learn how to leverage high-performance computing in biomedical innovation, particularly in developing advanced prosthetics. I aim to create articulate prosthetic devices capable of processing large volumes of neural signals in real time, and I'm eager to gain new knowledge and experience, as this program offers the ideal opportunity to build the technical understanding needed to bring that vision to life!
