Ashton Cartwright is a driven scholar, transformational leader, and aspiring data scientist and cybersecurity analyst from Nassau, The Bahamas. He is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science with a concentration in Cybersecurity and a minor in Mathematics at Philander Smith University.
Ashton’s collegiate journey is marked by his commitment to academic excellence, innovation, and impactful leadership. He serves as Vice President of Finance for the Student Government Association and holds the title of Mister Junior 2024–2025. Within Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., Ashton leads as Vice President of the Beta Chi Chapter Arkansas Assistant District Director and Southwestern Region Board Member . He also proudly represents Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. as Mister Alpha Xi.
His technical acumen has fueled his contributions to national and collegiate initiatives—ranging from conducting research in cybersecurity and high-performance computing at the U.S. Department of Energy’s Berkeley National Laboratory, to developing data-driven, AI-powered prosthetic solutions that won first place at HBCU Pitchfest. He is also a multi-year NASA MINDS competitor, helping to design innovative systems for future lunar missions. He also won 2nd runner up at a NASA and ASGC robotics competition in Arkansas.
A former U.S. State Department Youth Ambassador, Ashton blends global awareness, technical expertise, and a passion for service to create meaningful change. He lives by the mantra: “Shoot for the moon, because if you miss, you will land among the stars.”
