Dr. Arghya Kusum Das is an Assistant Professor of Computer Science at the University of Alaska Fairbanks (UAF), where he leads multiple research initiatives in scientific big data analytics, artificial intelligence (AI), distributed cyberinfrastructure, and data-driven workforce development for Alaska. Dr. Das’s research has been supported by multiple federal agencies, including the NSF, DOE, NIH, NASA, USGS, and DoD. His work focuses on developing advanced HPC and AI cyberinfrastructure to enable multidisciplinary discoveries in fields such as healthcare, bioinformatics, wildfire, energy, and critical minerals. He earned his Ph.D. in Computer Science from Louisiana State University and a B.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering from the West Bengal University of Technology, India. Prior to joining UAF, Dr. Das served as a tenure-track faculty member at the University of Wisconsin–Platteville and held positions in both academia and industry, including roles at Wipro Technologies.
